Appearance:
Varo looks like your typical Hispanic scrawny kid. He’s kind of short for his age and very thin, but it’s not because he doesn’t eat because he eats quite a lot. He just has fast metabolism, he guesses. He has brown big eyes and curly, crazy brown hair he doesn’t bother to tame in the mornings. His lips twitch into a sarcastic grin easily, to be honest that’s kind of his default expression when talking to people.
His Aunt was accommodated but not crazy rich, so his clothes are those a normal kid his age would ear. He likes baggy shirts and jeans, but it’s not hard to convince him to wear more formal clothes on occasions- it’s just not his first choice. He has thought about wearing a costume once he actually starts going full superhero, but it’s proven hard to think of one related to his powers.
Full Name: Alvaro 'Varo' Sala
Age/B-day: age, Jan/1/1997
Supernatural Affinity: Level B Superhuman. In his world: ' Superhuman with powerful abilities that pose a direct threat to others, are uncontrollable, or show the potential for developing multiple mutations/abilities.'
Powers: His powers are a from of Vice Inducement.. He has the ability to see which of the 7 capital sins a person leans towards as some kind of colorful aura around them, changing color depending on that person's sin. When they are around him, said people would suddenly feel a... nudge, a sudden urge to indulge even more in those sins. A person with anger would suddenly feel that emotion overcoming them, one with lust will not be able to focus on anything other than that pleasure. The sins can of course shift with time or in determined moments (lust would go off the roof when sleeping with someone), but every person has a single sin they usually fall into.

World: Based on my friend's Kat world
PB: Eduardo Espinilla
Personality
Varo is a good kid and he means well. That’s the first impression you will probably get from him- he has just a sweet demeanor to him. The way he carries around and he speaks, the way he looks at you straight to your eyes when he’s talking to you… everything in him speaks of “I trust you and I hope you trust me back”, and you can’t help but do just so.
But the truth is that he will not trust you or even like you, at all. He’s growing up seeing how the teacher he trusted was filled with greed so yellow it blinded him. How the nice woman at the bakery who offered him a candy every time he brought some bread had the soft blue light of sloth surrounding her. How the couple that eat each other with kisses under his window where they thought no one could see them kept getting a darker and darker blue as time goes by.
It’s hard to trust humanity when you can see the worst in them. So he doesn’t, and he doesn’t really care about what they think of him either. Why should he? They are all a bunch of sinners. Which isn’t to say he isn’t a sinner himself, but it’s hard to find it in himself to care when he’s fully aware no one is really perfect, and no one is really better than anyone else. He thought his sister was perfect, once, because that’s what his parents repeating it but then she decided to leave it all behind and stop pretending her powers were a gift to humanity rather than a gift to herself. Varo is kind of- optimistically pessimistic about humanity, if that even makes sense: good people can turn around and try to control the world like her sister and he expects them to, but that means people inherently bad can also turn around and help people out, can’t they?
He hopes, anyway. That’s what he will fight to do himself.
It’s not really that he’s incredibly religious, even though his Aunt tries to raise him that way. He’s loosely catholic, at best and he doesn't really have any issues with people that follow other religions, if any. But he’s had the wrong side of people drilled into his head literally since he was born so it’s not a surprise that he would react that way to people.
He doesn't exactly hate humanity or look down on them, since he’s fully aware he’s one of them and has never tried to convince him otherwise. And there are sometimes people he actually likes enough to turn a blind eye on when the aura begins to manifest itself, ignoring it and pretending he doesn't see it. But it’s just hard to get close to people when you know the longer they spend around you the more probably it is they will fall victims to their own primal instincts.
He has a lot of fun playing with people, even though it doesn't necessarily have to be with his powers. He’s smart and good with words so he loves teasing people. He has a hard time making friends because he likes discretely laughing at them a little bit too much, but he doesn't really see then need for friends unless he someone really, really impresses him- probably because they are truly, honestly trying to be good no matter their impulses and he wants to find out how long they can handle having him around without breaking, or because they embrace their sins and don’t give a damn about what the others things- which is basically the only way to be immune to Varo’s powers.
He’s one of the good guys, or so he likes to think. After his parent’s end he’s aware that his powers could easily make him a very powerful villain but he refuses to let them dictate what he does with his life. He’s determined to try to use his powers for good, to focus on the weak spots the bad guys might have and use it against them. He knows it’s possible since his sister was extremely skilled at that focus, he knows he could do it as well with enough training. And that’s why he choose his own codename “Carnal” and went to the first organization he found that would let him do just that.

✓ He picked the name Carnal to sound more intimidating | ✓ He adores spicy food | ✓ He tries very hard not to use his powers on kids |
- S1: He's fairly powerful, few people are immune to his powers. - S2: He's a quick-thinker, able to assess the situation quickly and come up with a plan - S3: He has a big respect for authority and has no problem taking orders if he thinks they make sense. | -W1: He's a hard time controlling his powers or shutting them down. -W2: He's fairly weak, and has next to 0 training when it comes to fighting or physical things. He did play a bit of -W3: He also has no problem ignoring said orders if the figure of authority loses his respect... which happens fairly often. |
History
Alvaro’s birth wasn’t expected since his parents already had a kid they loved dearly and was honestly kind of a handful, but it certainly wasn’t unwanted. His parent (hard-working first generation immigrants with admittedly little education beyond high school) had had their first kid, Eva Maria, when they were still young and hadn’t planned to have any more kids.
Eva was also a superhuman, with powers exactly opposite of Varo’s- that is, she had the ability to see people’s virtues and potentiate them. Unlike Varo, she learned to control her powers well after puberty hit. Their parents adored her, believed her to be a gift from God and while they were smart enough to not broadcast her powers to the public so she wouldn’t be taken away they also encouraged her to help people out, to use her powers for good. They called her an angel, and they didn’t know why their house had been given such blessing but were grateful for it.
And then Varo came.
They loved their kids; there was no doubt of that. They tried to give both of them everything they could, and made sure they knew everything he could about his roots and their culture. Varo was a smart kid, and never got into trouble (even though trouble seemed to follow him everywhere he went), while Eva had always been a sweet gentle girl who got everyone’s heart in her pocket the moment she smiled up at them. José and Maria tried very, very hard not to play favorites (something Varo now looks back and appreciates) but it was hard not to when they thought of one as an Angel came to earth to help humanity. And then the moment Varo’s powers fully manifested, when he was seven…
Well, something changed. His mother had always been worried about her appearance, but it went to extremes a couple of years after Alvaro was born. Clothes needed to be more and more fashionable and expensive, make up didn’t just seem to cover it anymore.
His father had always had a high libido, but he had never even dreamed of cheating on his wife. A couple of days after Alvaro’s 7th birthday, he paid a woman for sex for the first time. His woman just wasn’t enough.
She died in a plastic surgery operation gone wrong.
He died a year later from a STD, a kind of hepatitis.
Alvaro has never felt guilty about their deaths. It wasn’t him that put her on the operation table or didn’t care to use a condom. But he did feel guilty about how their deaths seemed to have made Eva Maria kind of… snap. She wasn’t their little angel anymore, she wasn’t tied up to the whims of wishes of two people who would share her around the neighborhood like a little trophy, who kept on forcing her to share her gift and ‘make the world a better place’. She decided she didn’t want to make the world a better place, she wanted to make the world a better place for her. And her powers would make it easier for her.
So she ran away, leaving 10 years old Varo behind.
Luckily for him his father’s sister Clara, an elderly woman who had a little fortune thanks to her then deceased husband agreed to take care of him, probably do with how Varo’s parents had never told her what Varo was able to do, even when it had slowly become clear the kid would bring them both to their deaths. She was a very religious woman and she happened to have a latent superhuman-detection powers she wasn’t aware of. That meant she soon realized Alvaro was special even if she never truly grasped how much, and she tried to do her best to show him a way to control his powers, to not cause mayhem wherever he went.
He’s spent a couple of years living with her now, and he’s gotten much better at controlling his powers. He also read everything he could about the supers- what they could do, what the government was using them for, how they took care of each other… even if he never told his aunt how much he was researching on them. She wasn’t against them, she just thought they should be treated with patience and being clam, trying to hide them and control them until yo could become a ‘normal person’… and not used like a weapon to be thrown around. Which was exactly what Varo wanted to do.
He knew a religious woman like her would never understand that the powers he had were a gift, not a curse, so as soon as he became aware of that he barely even paid attention to her lessons (which he will probably come to regret, they would have come useful to control his powers). But he did learn some from her morals, and even if he has a lot of fun playing around with his powers it was basically thanks to her that he decided he wanted to try to do some good with them, to help people. His sister had been a little angel and then turned around, so maybe he who had always been a demon could do the same.
Which is why one day he just went up to DELTA’s doorstep and told them he wanted to join them, to the guard’s merriment.
